Little Man’s BIG reward for good grades!

Griffin got his first report card a few weeks back and as incentive to get all A’s and B’s he was promised to go hang out with my life long friend’s boys and their dirt bike track!!  Needless to say every day before report cards came out Griffin said is today the day I get to go ride my dirk bike! LOL.  Thank goodness Lori and the boys were not busy and let us come over the following Sunday after his report card came out!  Lori’s boys are 10-year-old twins and Griffin thinks they are the greatest!  Which I have to agree.  They were so eager and willing to show him the ropes of how to maneuver around the track.

They even rode along side of him with their 4-wheeler just to make sure he was getting the hang of it!   Needless to say they picked up on Griffin’s “No Fear”  and how fast he liked to run his dirt bike

Griffin had a couple of crashes…look at the pic below  Lori’s boy to the rescue to make sure he was OK.   Every time Griffin lost control they’d be right there checking on him.

I think those “crashes” were good for Griffin…calmed his “No Fear” down a bit.   Here he is getting advice from expert dirt bikers!  LOL

More Fun with Speed and jumps!

Here he is getting ready to making his last lap!  He definitely didn’t want to go home but Lori and the boys were so sweet and told him he could come back any time he wanted!  It by far has been the best incentive to get him to concentrate and work hard on his school work.   He has been struggling with grammar and phonics a bit and come to find out he has not been hearing well and has failed two hearing tests, which I sure has not helped with his learning in school.  We went to an ENT doctor in evansville on Monday and he has issues with fluid being behind his ear.   He does have large tonsils, which could be an issue, but we are going to have tubes put in his ears this coming Monday to relieve the fluid and pressure behind his ears.  That will be the quickest and easiest way to get him hearing properly.  He can even go back to school the next day.   Griffin was pretty excited about getting to pick out “ear puddy” to wear in his ears when he takes a shower or swims…although with his hearing he heard the words “ear pudding”.  Bless his heart.  So if you think of him and us on Monday morning say a prayer that everything will go smoothly and he’s ears/hearing will be good as new!
