Merry Christmas from our house!

Christmas 2010 006

Things have been busy around here.  We’ve been slip, sliding (hence ice on the drive in the picture) and semi shining….The farmers decided to trick out the semi a bit with a new paint job, chrome, and Keith Graber & Son Farms transfer on the door…just in time to start haulin’ their grain this winter.

Griffin tonsils removed

The kids got 3 snow/ice days because of crazy weather,  on Friday, 12-17-2010, Griffin also had his tonsils removed the same week.  He was going to have to miss his Christmas party at school but with the weather and having no school he will get to celebrate with the rest of his class when he goes back to school in January.  He did very well and surgery only lasted about 20 minutes.  His surgeon said he had very large tonsils but his adenoids were ENORMOUS and said he was not sure how he was even breathing through his nose, so we are glad we made the decision to go ahead and have them removed.  He has been a SUPER TOUGH patient and aside from throwing up in the recovery room,  (which the nurse had told us probably would happen and said most patients do) He really has had no complications and has been a happy camper.  We stayed ahead of the pain and Griffin did a great job of keeping hydrated and eating well.  Now one week later he is completely off of any pain meds and is really wanting to get back to being his rumbling and tumbling boy.  The doctor said no running or activity for 2 weeks until throat is completely healed!  Griffin’s big question is “Can I run now?”  He’s not quite there yet but really, really close!  At least he has been able to enjoy Christmas, which has been a real blessing!

We also received baby turkeys on Christmas Eve morning.   The truck was about an hour behind in delivering them…so I took pictures of our wonderful crew of helpers while we waited.  Christmas 2010 007

Christmas 2010 013

Had to take a picture of Daddy-O with his girly farm girls and their hot pink and red polk-a-dot boots.   Megan is growing everyday and has been squeezing her feet into the polk-a-dot boots b/c she has graduated to a size 9, which means Momma gets to inherit the cool red polk-a-dot boots!  YAY Me!   Christmas Eve Day for lunch Megan wanted to fix a frozen pizza and we found out the bottom element in the oven isn’t working again.  But good news the broiler works, so for dinner we grilled steaks under the broiler, which were very delicious.  Natalie wanted to put curlers in so she’d have curly hair for Christmas.  Christmas 2010 015

This is our beautiful Graber Family.  We are all kind of laughing b/c  I was making it an olympic feat trying to set the timer on the camera and run back and squat down and grab Alton and SMILE before it snapped the photo in 10 seconds!  Phewww…I thought for all that it turned out pretty good.

Christmas 2010 100

Griffin & Alton had fun playing with new trucks and cows!  Such little farmer boys!

Christmas 2010 072

Griffin got a harmonica from us because he always LOVES playing with grandpa’s harmonica at their house.   Here he is trying to play along…so sweet.

Kaelyn had special music for all of us.  She is doing fabulous and becoming quite a pianist and music just flows right through her fingers to make the music sound beautiful!

Christmas 2010 166

Natalie took this picture of Kaelyn’s hand and the piano keys…I thought it was a pretty neat…I love finding surprise pictures on my camera like this!

We were truly blessed and enjoyed celebrating our Saviors birth with our family.  God is Good.
