Megan and my niece, Cassie, with their Champion & Grand Champion ribbons from the Daviess County 4H Dog Show July 24, 2009.
This is the reason I've not hardly made any posts to the blog in the month of July.....4H projects! All the hard work paid off...today at the Daviess County 4H Dog Show! Cassie and Megan came away as big winners today! Megan won Champion in the Agility course of the dog show in her division, as well as she was awarded RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION overall of the dogs!! YAY Mae-Mae!! We all cheered with excitement for her! I was so proud of her and our 12-year-old dog, Libby, who is a Red Australian Heeler. Megan moved her through the course easily and Libby did every skill aside from Libby going around one of the jumps and Megan turned her around and Libby hit it on the 2nd try.
Connor also showed his black lab, Kobi, in mini-4H division also! He did a great job too! He also did really well in showmanship and agility with Kobi! I'm sure if Connor was in regular 4H he would have came away with a big ribbon because he did a really good job of working Kobi through the course as well and will be a big contender to deal with when he is in regular 4H too! He looks pretty handsome with his dog in the picture above! Good job Connor!
4H is ALOT of work but the ribbons and the smiles in the end as a result of their hard work make it worth it all! I was just about in tears a few times from being so nervous for them as well as tears of JOY to see the results! Definitely a tiring and emotional roller coaster for momma getting all the projects in and completed but so rewarding in the end!!
