My Champions!!

Megan and my niece, Cassie, with their Champion & Grand Champion ribbons from the Daviess County 4H Dog Show July 24, 2009.

This is the reason I've not hardly made any posts to the blog in the month of July.....4H projects! All the hard work paid off...today at the Daviess County 4H Dog Show! Cassie and Megan came away as big winners today! Megan won Champion in the Agility course of the dog show in her division, as well as she was awarded RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION overall of the dogs!! YAY Mae-Mae!! We all cheered with excitement for her! I was so proud of her and our 12-year-old dog, Libby, who is a Red Australian Heeler. Megan moved her through the course easily and Libby did every skill aside from Libby going around one of the jumps and Megan turned her around and Libby hit it on the 2nd try.
Cassie showing Max to the judge during Showmanship...which she dominated...winning Champion in Senior Showmanship and then going on to win overall GRAND CHAMPION Showmanship! Funny thing is Cassie decided at last minute that she was going to do showmanship! I'm glad she decided too!! She did a great job with her massive Max the lab!

My niece, Kaelyn also showed her dog Shorty in mini-4H division. She did really good with shorty and will be a pro with Shorty when she gets in the regular 4H. Isn't she just the cutest little sweetie!
Connor also showed his black lab, Kobi, in mini-4H division also! He did a great job too! He also did really well in showmanship and agility with Kobi! I'm sure if Connor was in regular 4H he would have came away with a big ribbon because he did a really good job of working Kobi through the course as well and will be a big contender to deal with when he is in regular 4H too! He looks pretty handsome with his dog in the picture above! Good job Connor!
Natalie, was also a Champion in 4H earlier in the week! She is my CHAMPION in SCRAPBOOKING!! We had a lot of fun working on her project together! Alot of the time when we were working on it...We both would have the same ideas...it was really cute...Natalie would say I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING! She did her scrapbook on all her Cross Country season from last year with all her ribbons and pictures. She did an AWESOME job and I was very proud of her!!

4H is ALOT of work but the ribbons and the smiles in the end as a result of their hard work make it worth it all! I was just about in tears a few times from being so nervous for them as well as tears of JOY to see the results! Definitely a tiring and emotional roller coaster for momma getting all the projects in and completed but so rewarding in the end!!
