Natalie's Wired!

Natalie has inherited her mother's genes and has the exact same cross bite and little mouth. But we are taking care of it early and not making her wait until she is 35 to get it taken care of! So today she had a quad helix placed into her mouth on top and bottom. It will expand her upper and lower width wise to correct her bite and also make room for her teeth to come in. Below are pics of our visit. She was a tough cookie, no crying whatsoever!

This is the quad helix that is on her top, it fastens to her back molars and other wires are around her gum line on the inside of top teeth. She also has these hot pink rubber band type things on the inside of her bottom teeth to help the quad stay in place.

This is Tiffany placing the quad in and below is her using some heating tool to cement it into place. Yes that is a blue light in Natalie's mouth, kind of cool. Tiffany is AWESOME!

Almost Done, Natalie rinsing.
YAY! She did it all Done and Tiffany Loaded her up with lots of goodies from the treasure chest, 5 stickers, 2 bracelets, 2 pencils, and she also got to take home the impressions of her teeth that they used to make the quad helix the right size for her mouth(those are in her right hand in the pic). She was really pleased to hear that chocolate, mac&cheese, and mashed potatoes were all on the OK List for food! They are all her favorites. Dr. Helms was wonderful too, she was just too fast and efficient to catch her on camera! So I thought I'd give her some free advertisement on my blog with the sign!

She also lost a tooth yesterday while she was with grandma so we will see if the tooth fairy comes to our house tonight, she was at grandmas house last night so the tooth fairy couldn't find her!
