We've had a busy past couple of weeks so I decided to put glimpses of it here in one post starting with the most recent events:
SOUTH KNOX CROSS COUNTRY MEET
September 19, 2009
The girls had another meet this past Saturday and they as well as their TEAM did very well! There were 19 teams present but at this meet they class the score into Big Schools and Small Schools. Natalie finished 18th out of 107 runners in the A-race, which landed her a 4th place trophy in the small school division with a time of 12:54 seconds! Her Big Sis, Megan was not too far behind her with a 22nd place finish overall resulting in 5th place finish in the small school division with a time of 13:07! Its so fun to watch them run and see their blonde ponytails flying across the finish line so close together!
Here they are in the black uniforms, Natalie is the blonde with braided pontail and Megan is just to the right of her with the blonde ponytail and black elastic band on her head. Can't you just see Natalie's Grit and determination from her position on the starting line...She's always in position way before everyone else to make sure she doesn't miss any starting instructions!
Below is Natalie bustin it across the finish line
Megan stopping her watch for time as she crosses the finish line
Below is my nephew, KC, he runs on the WJHS CC team who was also present at the South Knox Meet. KC is an AMAZING runner! He finished 3rd overall, which gave him a 2nd place trophy in the big schools.
Below is KC coming across the finish line...check out his time 10:30! Whooo Hooo KC!
The girls ran well enough to finish 2nd place as a team and brought home a trophy with 2nd place ribbons for their A-team! We have 20 girls on our team but this is all that were left when the awards were over. Of course Griffin had to be a part of the team! He was so excited that he had a t-shirt to wear just like the girls! This was the first meet they have been able to place as a team so we were all very pleased about that!! Way to go girls!!
BROWN COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY MEET
September 12, 2009
The previous Saturday, the girls CC meet was in Brown County. We had to leave at 5:15 a.m. in order to get up there on time. It was even a tad bit chilly but made such a nice day for the girls to run! There were 180 runners in the A-race and the girls were bookin it on this course!
Orthodontist and dentist appointments
September 15 - Megan
September 16 - Natalie
Megan had her appointment this week to get all her expansion appliances delivered into her mouth! Bless her heart she is pretty much doing the same as I had to do....only her expander and bottom mouth piece are really cool colors. Below is a picture of her cheesing for the camera after we left the office. You can see her bottom appliance that fits over her bottom teeth so they will not erupt more while her top jaw is being expanded...its black with hot pink sparkles.
Natalie's Appointment with the dentist - not so much fun.
Although from the picture you can't really tell how anxious and nervous Natalie was with her appointment. Well I've passed on the teeth issues genetics onto Natalie as well. She has had two baby teeth in the front that have permanent teeth coming through in front of the baby teeth so she had to have two bottom teeth extracted because her mouth is just so small and not room for everything to come in properly. I think you can see from her crazy smile her crowding issues with her teeth. But she survived and best part for her was we had to wait 45 minutes before she ever got into for her appt because the dentist ran into another unexpected dental procedure with another patient...so for all the time Natalie got to play with Alton all by herself! So that made her happy!
TURKEY TROT 2009
We also spent time at the turkey trot this year too. The girls did pig wrestling and Griffin raced a turkey and fun was had by all!

Griffin got to race a turkey this year at Turkey Trot! He was so excited about it. He definitely was not afraid of the turkey (hard to believe I know) and ended up being 1st place in his heat! YAY for Griffy!
Hopefully I can do better about updating the blog and not have two weeks worth of pics at a time!

I'm right there with you on the orthodontist thing My expander was light pink and it had my name on it but they spelled it wrong they spelled it perdy I didn't think my 4 letter last name was that hard to spell but apparently it is.
I haven't had to have any teeth pulled yet so i can't relate to Natalie very much Sorry Nat.
Bridgette had an expander too last fall until this spring. Tell Megan to be careful when eating those small candy canes this Christmas. Bridgette was twirling one in and around her expander and the hook made it lodge in there with the stick poking her throat. Yea, weird huh? It was on the bus to an away b-ball game and the whole bus got involved trying to get it out, even Mark Holt. Needless to say she was quite embarrassed and didn't eat anymore candy canes. haha
way to go girls for XX!!! they are so awesome!
BOO to the orthodontist :( i had to have numerous teeth pulled when i was around her age b/c my mouth was too small (hard to imagine!)... and lovely braces. i always loved having pretty rubberbands :) haha! they will be thankful for all that dental work later in life though :)
Aww poor Megan...I'm feeling for her! I can't believe how much KC looks like Connor...some strong Heller genes there! ;) Looks like you guys had a BLAST at French Lick. Thanks for sharing the deal with us. We're going the 1st weekend in November.
Yes susie.. when Kevin brought the picture home of our new ride.. I literally laughed at him and said the SAME thing... but hey.. it's new/fun/safe.. and so I couldn't turn it down..:)
