Last Week of Summer Vacation

Our last week before school started was cram time trying to get everything in that we didn't get done all summer...here are some pictures of everything we did in the last 7 days of summer vacation.

1. Last time swimming at pond with cousins

2. Cross Country practice in the mud (that was last time we had a good rain!)

3. The guys finished up building the shelter house at the pond.

4. Megan, Natalie, & Mom pedicures and shopping.

5. Mallory came to spend the night and we had corn on the cob the kids helped shuck the corn.

6. Jessica & Kyle came down for pond time and sleep over.

7. BMX racing with Seth in the cornelius back yard.

8. Summer reading..Fazolli's...Just a Trace toy store...and more CC practice with cousins.

9. Road Trip to Cayuga for Jessica's 12th b-day party along with mini-van mechanical problems.

Cayuga Christian Church was the start of a motorcycle run that was fund raiser to help local families affected with cancer...they stopped at different churches along the route and had a moment of silence and prayer for those families...It was pretty cool to see and Kevin road in part of the run until it was time for Jessica's party. Griffin was very impressed with all the motorcycles!

Jessica's gramma, Linda, always makes her birthday cakes for her every year, age 12 is the last year she makes the cake for her grandchildren...so this was Jessica's last b-day cake...and might I say WOW...how amazing is this cake! She made every detail and all of it is hand crafted by her and all is eatible! Jessica's Nana is in the background (kevin's grandma) She is pretty much the coolest nana around...we love getting to visit with her when we go to Purdy kids b-days.

Gramma Linda even made these little people on the water slide tubes look at all the details of their hair...the bottom picture the little guy even has a mohawk!! The high towers of the cake are made from 3 inch cookies stacked with icing in between and rolled in some special brown sugar icing. (I'm sure that's not what it is called but I'm not a cake decorator!) This cake was right at Griffin's eye level and was too tempting for him not to get in...he picked up one of the little guys and tried to eat it! AHHHHHHHHHHHH my worst night mare...but Gramma Linda came prepared with a repair kit and fixed it all right up!

Natalie has had her makeover by Jessica and Jessica is cool off with some cucumbers! And well Griffin had to try that!!! Jessica giving Megan a facial and Natalie giving me a pedicure.
The kids always love putting on performaces in the youth room of the church using the stage and Uncle Kevin Purday runs the sounds and lights for them! You never know what they are going to come up with. This year they chose a PureNRG remake...the video below is just a snippet of the entertainment they provided for us!
