Crazy weather...3 inches of rain over night...more than the entire month of August. Playing outside was not an option today So here's a few things Griffin did to occupy his day! First thing this morning he got to have BIG Bubble bath to play in! That occupied him for a little while.
Then we had to make a run to Wal-mart and stop and fill the van up with gas...which we didn't make it there in time before the price went up $.30..darn! Anyway Griffin likes to be a gentleman and helped me filler up!
Then when we got home he had to go out to the shop and check out the new tractor in daddy and grandpa's shop! A Yellow Cat Challenger...this is a new color added to the Graber Farm! Griffin gave his approval and is glad there is a second seat in there for him.
After checking out the tractor we headed to Washington for WHS Homecoming Parade!
Right before we left to go to the parade Miss Kaelyn called and told me the BIG NEWS of what her mommy's ultrasound showed today!! so since they were in Washington we invited them to come down and watch the parade with us and we caught up with Brenda and Mallory as the rest of the Washington Heller kids were in the parade! It sprinkled at the beginning of the parade and then the HOT SMOLDERING SUN came out and we just stood there and the sweat started dripping down, which I guess was better than chasing candy in the rain! The kids made out like Bandits and Griffin even got a Frisbee from the Sheriff Department! Along with us Adults getting several handshakes from all the politicans in the parade...can't say I remember that so much in the homecoming parade????
First we saw Jimmy driving one of Hoeffling's trucks in the parade...that's where he works...Griffin thought it was pretty cool Jimmy was pulling a little Case IH tractor.
Next was KC with his WJHS CC team! Griffin loves chasing KC around so some of KC's friends have gotten to know who Griffin is too from going to KC's meets. Griffin said "Mom did you hear that KC's friends said my name!"
Here is the WHS CC team trailer....John a.k.a. "Big Red" is standing up front in the middle
And here is Miss Chloe 2nd from the right (barefoot). The bonus of having cousins in the parade...is that they make sure to throw candy right in front of you! It wasn't too bad except fishing a few pieces out of the puddles next to the curb. After it was over we headed to the van and cranked up the AC!! So ALL in ALL it was a great way to end the hot humid rainy day in Indiana!
